WORKS ON PAPER

Prior to the execution of an oil painting a number of studies are made by the artist. These are produced in a range of media; pencil, pen and ink, watercolour and gouache. They form a body of work which has an aesthetic of their own. These studies are contained in travel sketchbooks which have been worked upon later in the studio or have been transcribed separate sheets. A few of these studies and sketchbooks are available for purchase.
